Sk8ology Opening and Auction

Greetings and salutations to all you hep kats and kitties!!

Last night was the opening of the Sk8ology show @ ISM Gallery in Long Beach. It was a swell affair, attended by finest of the art world and sk8 world cognoscenti and a smattering of the glittering illiterati. Hundreds of imaginatively transformed skate decks were on display. A good time was had by all.

One of the two pieces I have in the Urban Legends Show . I hadn't worked in watercolor in ten years or so. I was terrified to begin, but after ten big hand spins, spooksville turned to giggle city. A groovy scene change from the electric paint set.

Sk8 to the finish

Monday, put on the finishing touches. 91º degree weather helped take some of the tacky off the oils but let's face it it's still pretty tacky. Next stop.... Long Beach.

Saturday afternoon brought a couple "o" margaritas courtesy of La Cabañita and some much needed horizontal down time. Sunday....well it was easy like......Sunday Morning.

Comic-Con kicked my butt!!! I got back home in the midnight hour. I caught some zzzzz's. Around 5 a.m. I hauled my sorry a** outta the sack and busted out the oils. 10:00 a.m. came speedin' up and said, "Son, you ain't ready and you ani't a gonna be ready any time soon.
